五、講座內容簡介：

By-products of extensive economic growth, such as air pollution, are becoming an increasingly important driver of transnational migration, particularly in developing countries. This study explores the short-term and exogenous daily fluctuations in air pollution captured by China’s environmental monitoring stations to examine the impact on Chinese residents’ subjective intention for international migration based on data from the 2015 China Household

Finance Survey (CHFS). We demonstrate that exogenous daily PM2.5 concentrations significantly increase Chinese residents’ international migration propensity. This result could be explained by the negative impact of air pollution on residents’ subjective well-being. The results also reveal significant heterogeneity in the air pollution effect, which is greater among residents with higher education and asset levels. These findings suggest that air pollution accelerates the outflow of human capital and raises concerns about China’s sustainable economic growth.

六、主講人簡介：

馬雙，經濟學博士，廣州大學經濟與統計學院副院長，教授，博士生導師，美國德州農工大學訪問學者。研究方向為中國勞動經濟問題。在《經濟研究》、《經濟學季刊》、《管理世界》、《世界經濟》、《金融研究》、Journal of International Economics、World Development、Journal of Empirical Finance 、China Economic Review等國內外權威期刊發表學術論文近40篇，出版合著2部，其中英文著作1部。主持國家社科基金項目1項，教育部青年項目1項。 2012年以來，累計獲得“四川省哲學社會科學優秀成果獎”5項，“劉詩白經濟學獎”1項，“教育部高等學校科學研究優秀成果獎”1項。作為核心成員參與中國家庭金融調查項目，并兼任首席研究員。作為主要貢獻者參與并發布《中國家庭收入差距報告》、《中國城鎮地區住房空置率報告》，取得了重大的社會影響。2014年入選“第十一批四川省學術和技術帶頭人后備人選”名單，2017年入選“第十三批四川省有突出貢獻的優秀專家”名單。2018年入選“廣州市嶺南英杰工程后備人才”，2019年入選“廣東省高等學校青年珠江學者”，入選“廣州市青年文化英才”。
